Super Member ECF Veteran Although many new vapers adapt quickly without problems, others are struggling with their symptoms and/or finding a nicotine force that satisfies them. If you are struggling to find satisfaction after a few days, weeks or even months (some people have found that it works at first but a yearning for something else develops over time) then I hope this note is useful. The first thing to recognize is that some symptoms of changing smoking to vaping are not related to your chemical needs: 1. There is no fast satisfaction (rush) of vaping. Nicotine quickly reaches the smoking brain. Nicotine absorbed by vaping has a slower effect. This changes the feeling a little and it may take a while to get used to the different delivery speed. You can also make it difficult to say when you are getting too little vs. too much. 2. Fumar offers carbon monoxide, not vaping. This is, of course, something good. But if you feel a lack of "rush" effect of vaping this could be the cause. You'll adapt to this, carbon monoxide is not something you're addicted to. 3. You may feel sore throat, dry mouth and/or symptoms similar to cold. For most people this happens after a week. Drinking more fluids can help. Note that these are common symptoms of quitting smoking, related to tar. For a particular person may or may not be aggravated by vaping. If these get very bad, you should consider changing from vaping a PG-based liquid (the most common liquids) to a VG-based one or seeing a doctor (something else is causing the symptoms.) 4. You can start producing more flem for a month or so, and have associated cough. If you've stopped smoking in the past, you'll recognize this symptom. Your lungs are cleaning some of the tarp from the past at a faster rate than they could while you smoked. 5. Hiccup. Like a new vase you can find swallowing some when they fill with cartridges, flooding your atomizer, and then sucking it by mistake. The nicotine that goes down can trigger hypo. You will learn to avoid flooding the bond with practice. Now let's talk about the nicotine force to use. Your body doesn't feel good but you don't know if you reduce or increase the level of nicotine you're vaping. Or you've increased the strength of nicotine a few times and it's not helping. Many symptoms of nicotine overdose and cigarette removal are similar, so it can be hard to tell which one of these is happening. A download here: I am not a professional in this field. The symptoms I describe below and attribute to less or more doses of nicotine are information I have gathered reading websites and published studies; my advice is based only on that. I can't promise to be absolute indications. Especially in your process of changing to vaping, listen to your body. If you can figure out what he's telling you, then that's the best advice of everyone. Symptoms of nicotine overdose are clearer indicators of what is happening in your body than the symptoms of withdrawal. This is because nicotine overdose has been studied a bit. The withdrawal of nicotine has not been studied almost so much. What has been studied a lot is the removal of cigarettes that is a different thing - which includes no longer inhaling a few thousand chemicals, not just nicotine. Symptoms of nicotine overdose: racing pulse, palpitations sweats and sweats, cold sweats wrinkled speech, lisp twitch. hearing or vision problems salivation, drooling loss of appetite vomiting Cigarette withdrawal symptoms that I think are primarily associated with nicotine withdrawal: increase in appetite constipation Cigarette withdrawal symptoms that may be due to the withdrawal of nicotine, but may also be due to the withdrawal of something else: cravings difficulty concentrating irritability, frustration, anger Symptoms that have been associated with both nicotine overdose and cigarette removal. These are symptoms that can make it difficult to know what is going on: headaches nausea dizziness depression diarrhea anxiety lack of breath, chest oppression fatigue, drowsiness insomnia Antsy feelings confusion Hopefully you will be able to combine some things that you feel with symptoms that indicate that you are overdose or subdose, then adjust the level of nicotine accordingly and start feeling well. What if you have symptoms on both lists? I mean, you think you've found your nicotine level (e.g., because you passed over and had some signs of overdose) but you're still anxious "something." Some people have found themselves increasing their nicotine level more and more without satisfaction, doing what I call "buying the X-Factor." If you are clearly experiencing symptoms of nicotine overdose and still feeling strongly withdrawal symptoms (in particular cravings) then you are probably in this group. This group of people seems to be addicted to something else in cigarettes, as well as nicotine. The DVap Forum user has written some good notes about this problem, . If you are chasing X-Factor I recommend you to start by reducing your nicotine level until overdose symptoms disappear. More nicotine won't help you. You have some options on how to deal with the problem: 1) Laugh it. Hopefully vaping will eventually kick the addictions that are not those of nicotine. No one knows how long this will take, even if they can be permanent. (Even though addiction to nicotine seems likely to be that many people may eventually kick it.) (2) Start smoking cigarettes again, only the minimum required to avoid withdrawal symptoms. (3) The approach I recommend: Complement your vaping with some "snus Swedish" or another smokeless one to get the chemicals that are lost. Many people in this forum who found vaping alone to be inadequate have been successful using some Swedish snus a day, as well as vaping. It may not even take many to make a big difference - currently I use 2 to 3 snus per day and makes all the difference to me. See for a lot of information about smoke-free. "This article has been overcome by a more recent version in the ECF library. Please see the new version here: " Super Member ECF Veteran A very well written and informative post. A strong point he made is that people easily confuse symptoms of nicotine withdrawal with overdose symptoms. At the same time, people often attribute side effects to a new regime rather than the lack of an old regime. Thank you. Super Member ECF Veteran Great job. I think it needs to be sticky! And thank you for the advice. This should help a lot of people get over it. Super Member ECF Veteran I also think this should be sticky. I've been reflecting on these issues. Thank you for the information! Super Member ECF Veteran Thanks for the publication Tara Unregistered supplier ECF Veteran All right, one more vote for a sticky one. Unregistered supplier ECF Veteran I should have put this on too. If I find vaping in chain I use only a pinch of snuff and then it seems to me to calm down. Only two weeks smoke free, but I think that with this I can keep smoke free. I don't want to be free in any way, I don't want to put the tarp in my lungs anymore. Senior Member ECF Veteran Great pole! I totally love a sticky one. I have some friends, who have been caught in my enthusiasm and I will address them here when they have their own e-cigs. Super Member ECF Veteran Vote for Sticky in this post! All right! After 34 years of full-force mentol analog smoking, I ordered 26 mg but after only 3 vapes, I get headache and a "null buzz." So now I'm trying to find what mg is gonna work for me. This is a very informative post and gives everyone something to refer to too! Move. ECF Veteran Agreed sticky, please. Full membership Information and useful message, sir. Thank you. I've finished 3 weeks without smoking now and have experienced several of the symptoms before the beginning. Because I find myself vaping much more than I smoked analogs (this passthru working on my computer is a pacifier for me) I was getting my mouth dry and especially the muscle that moves a lot, what I'm guessing was too nicotine in my system. I learned to quickly change to 0 nic carts if I go all the time and only use the 26 mg nico at certain times... and that has helped significantly. Another symptom I am having, that I have not determined that it is directly related to leaving or not, is noticeably dry skin with red "blotchiness" patches on my face. I suspect that it is related to all the vg juice that I am vaping now and a marked change in the diet, but perhaps it is nothing more than winter fluctuations in temperature and humidity here. Full membership A very bad symptom that I had was blisters in "immentionable" places because I had inadvertently forgotten to wash my hands before going to the bathroom... That's right after I filled my carts. I agree with everyone... sticky, please! Super Member ECF Veteran Unfortunately he needs a sticky one! If I'd read that when I started vaping I wouldn't have had to ask many of the questions I asked. Super Member ECF Veteran Thank you all! A warm reception to my first attempt to write an article here makes me very happy. Super Member ECF Veteran excellent coverage! good reading. most of what has happened is in that post big work, from the west as well. Full membership Good reading; yes, this must be glued. The first week of vaping after quitting smoking gave the wife and I some surprises. Nothing extreme, especially a horrible case of cotton mouth. Two months later and everything is fine now, but the first temporeros must be aware. Senior Member ECF Veteran Great information. Also note that when I cough the tar I get what I can only imagine being what ashtray licking would prove. Full membership Yeah, a very informative job. Information needed for people like me who go crazy after two or three weeks of vaping and need to know why! Ultra Member ECF Veteran Very good post, sir. Thanks for your hard work to compile this data. I think it'll help a lot of people. Master Vaping ECF Veteran Sir said: Thank you all!
